'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Released List

As reported on VMC earlier today, Owen Hargreaves has now been confirmed as released by Manchester City Football Club...

Th'official site has also confirmed that Gai Assulin who's arrival from Barcelona was fanfared in 2010 is also up the road followed by Ahmed Benali, Sean Tse, Paul Clowes, Luke Coulson, Tom Halsall and George King.

Hargreaves' story is an absolutely tragic one. It's a great shame and the vast majority of Blues and indeed Reds will surely hope the hard working, talented midfielder can overcome the catalogue of injuries that have plagued his recovery from a long term lay off and resurrect his career with success somewhere in English football.

UPCOMING FIXTURES:
all times East Manchester

Fri 27 July Arsenal, Birds Nest Stadium, Beijing, Friendly
Su 12 August, Chelsea, Villa Park, Community Shield
Sa 18 August, To Be Confirmed, PL

- The 2012/13 Premier League season will kick off on Saturday the 18th August 2012. Fixtures will be announced around the middle of June, with the first set of television picks selected approximately 2-3 weeks later.

Such a shame for Hargreaves, as he was a fantastic player on his day. Hope he makes the correct decision for what remains of his career.

Great signing wasn't he......
Scotch Eggs Rule
An Arsenal fan criticising another clubs signings? You have to laugh.

LOL @ Scotch eggs. We paid the same ammount of cash as you did for Chamakh (ie free transfer), and both players scored precisely the same number of goals this season - 1. Bet Chamakh wasn't on a pay-as-you-play deal though like Hargreaves was with us though eh? Not as good as Arsenal's record signing Andre Arshavin though - he managed to score two whole goals for you this season. PMSL!
