Mancio: Blue Mood Upbeat - Vinny To Face Chelsea

It's good news all round as the MCFC feelgood factor takes another morale boost in the form of what was a tremendously successful tour of the Far East...

City boss Roberto Mancini, shortly to welcome back to training the club's Euro 2012 contingent is in fine form and had this to say post City's latest pre-season win on the road:

'I am even more confident today. Sergio played very well and his partnership with Carlos has continued from last season...hopefully we can continue this good form in the coming season.'

- Tevez and Aguero's work rates have certainly caught the eye.

Fears that inspirational City captain Vincent Kompany might miss the start of the season after an early flight home due to an injury picked up in the win over Arsenal have been laid to rest by the cool for cats City boss:

It is nothing serious. Vincent had a scan and should be fit to play against Chelsea in the Community Shield in two weeks...'

Spirits are soaring across Planet Blue.

Absolutely. Either a knackering 0-0, extra time and penalties or a 3-2er. To City of course!

Feck, I'd hoped he'd be unavailable. Top, top defender, and I know my stuff, I'm Belgian.

And at Villa Park too. Greta memories of that great arena. That's where the FA semi's should still be.

Wow, times have really changed. I was getting used to facing Old Red Nose or Wenger in the shield every year (we missed out last year of course). Unlike city, I don't think our squad is ready for this game yet.

Yes I don't think we are ready too...but its good to know that u guys are in top shape.....I am sure we'll win though.we seem to win when people least expect it

Unlike last seasons Charity Shield this time around I feel as though we have enough to beat Chelsea. Our pre-season has gone well ande most of the players are beginning to find a bit of flair and form. Fingers crossed I'm right.
