'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Micah Olympic Ankle Knack Downer

Powerful City defender Micah Richards is off the options agenda for Roberto Mancini for the coming weeks due to an injury sustained whilst playing for Team GB...

Richards took the knock during the team's rubbish performance and consequent defeat to South Korea. It's turned out worse than originally thought. Mancio:

'We thought it was a small injury but instead he will be out for longer. He has a big problem maybe, and it may be one month out.'

At least the City boss can content himself with the continuing robust defensive brilliance of Pablo Zabaleta who alongside numerous other City players has the look of a man running into the form of his life.

Joe Hart meanwhile remains sidelined with what Mancio described as a back injury that may still yet see him further rested for the sold out league opener against Southampton next Sunday. Harty has withdrawn from the England squad that will play Italy on Wednesday.

Get well soon Micah. He gets more than his fair share of short term injuries. Thankfully we have mad Zab to cover his absence.
