Maicon The Next In At Manchester City

It's all happening. The powerful Brazilian full-back Maicon has signed for The Blues from Inter Milan in a 3 million transfer coup...

Roberto Mancini's latest signing adds steel and vast experience to his squad ahead of The Blues exciting Champions League Group Stage campaign. The defender will rejoin his former manager and meet his new team-mates following international duty with Brazil.

Internazionale paid tribute to the big 31 year old in a farewell message:

'Douglas Maicon has been overwhelming for the Nerazzurri, playing 249 times and scoring 20 goals. He leaves an indelible mark on Inter, who triumphed in Italy, in Europe and the world. Maic, as his teammates call him, to the public The Colossus, embarks on a new adventure that is like a return to those early days at Inter, as he joins Manchester City Coach Roberto Mancini. To both, from Inter, good luck from the heart.'

Mancini said: "We are talking about one top player in Maicon, because he has experience."

Welcome to Manchester City, Colossus!

Welcome to the champions of England Maicon. What a stunning goal that was against Juve. Here's hoping we see a few like that from him in a City shirt.

It's been documented elsewhere but Micah will learn a lot off this fella.
