Isaksson on course for City debut

New City 'keeper Andreas Isaksson has returned to training following recent ankle surgery.

Isaksson, the Swedish international goalkeeper has still to make his debut following a £2million transfer from Rennes, but gaffer, Stuart Pearce is confident he will soon be available for selection and fighting Nicky Weaver for that number one spot.

Weaver himself, has staked a strong claim to remain first choice with a string of confident pre-season and premiership performances.

Our own web poll suggests that most of you think Isaksson shouldn't automatically go into to the side with Weaver in such fine form. We asked you:

Does Weaver deserve to hang on to his place given his current form?

Yes: 72%

No: 14%

Too close to call: 14%

Despite Nicky's form it's unlikely that Psycho will let a £2m signing stay on the bench for long, but it's clear that you want to make Isaksson fight for his place; let's hope the new competition brings out the best in both of them. Let's also not forget that Joe Hart is also snapping at their heels, so neither Nicky or Isaksson can afford to be complacent.

A keeper on form holds his spot, watch your league position for the answer, a couple of mistakes and it is CYA.

The recent performances of Weaver should soon have him knocking on the England door especially as this week as it was Ben Foster in the No.2 spot. This will then give Psycho a difficult selection headache.

I have seen a couple of your games on MOTD and Weaver looked in form, I don't think you should drop a keeper when he is playing well as it will knock his confidence and he won't be the same next time he gets a chance
