Academy Back to Winning Ways

City were one nil up thanks to either Ben Mee or an og when Adam Clayton whipped in a good free kick from the left.

Leeds were level on the half hour mark thanks to a very dubious penalty when England U18 international Javan Vidal was adjudged to have fouled the the Leeds player on the edge of the box.

City then went in front five minutes from the break, when yet again a free kick was not dealt with Scott Kay and Danny Pollitt headed across the face of the goal and there was David Ball just squeezing the ball inside the far post.

Leeds then equalized when Clayton McDonald gave a risky back pass to Lawrence Matthewson who sliced a clearance and the ball may have gone out, but the linesman was not up with play and the Leeds player whipped in and ran the ball to five yards out and slotted in.

Ched Evans was brought on to add something more upfront, which he certainly did by getting the winner in the 87th thanks to great work on the left by Donal McDermott who cut the ball back and Evans fired the ball into the roof of the net.
