City v Newcastle - Referee Alert

Just when I thought we might have a sniff of a chance of beating the Magpies, it's been brought to my attention that Graham Poll will be the referee.

Some of you regular readers may know that I'm not a big fan of Mr Poll, a view that was re-enforced at last season's home game against the Gooners, which was by far the worst display by a referee I've ever witnessed - check the archive, I did an article on it straight after the game when the red mist was still up.

Poll made an absolute ass of himself in the notorious world cup game where he failed to sent off a player despite showing two yellows. So far this season in the Premiership, he's shown 1 red and 46 yellows in ten games, and seems to be over-compensating for his globally witnessed cock-up in Germany 2006.

In the last week, he's hit the headlines yet again, most notably with the very harsh sendings-off of John Terry and James McFadden, so expect a fist-full of cards and a string of dodgy decisions against us at tomorrow's game.

I might now have to revise my 3 - 1 match prediction now that I know Poll's in charge.

Poll is a great ref, well the best we have anyways!! He's the only ref enforcing the letter of the law, apparently all the other refs have been criticised by the FA for being to leinient or weak willed!!

If he is the best we have got it just shows the standard of Refereeing is at an all time low.
