Still No Room For Weaver

Nicky Weaver has been a revelation for City so far this season and has made the most of his unexpected recall to the first team as a result of injuries to City's first choice 'keep, Andreas Isaksson, who still hasn't made his premiership debut, although he's not far off from a full recovery.

England face the Dutch in a friendly on Wednesday; a game that sees Micah Richards make his international debut in place of an injured Gary Neville.

It was reported to day that Chris Kirkland had also withdrawn from the squad, not due to injury this time, but so he could be with his wife for the birth of his child - not sure he's made the right decision there though;-)

Anyway, what could have been a glimmer of a chance of an England recall for Weaver was cruelly dashed when Steve McClaren announced he would not be calling up a replacement.

Bad luck Nicky, keep up the current form, and your time will surely come again.
