Sinclair after new City deal

In a move that is systematic of players representing Manchester City at the end of their careers, Trevor Sinclair has spoken of his desire to sign a new deal at Eastlands.

Speaking to the clubs official website mcfc.co.uk, Sinclair spoke of his desire to remain at the club he supported as a lad.

"I`ve made it clear that I do want to stay at the Club. It`s down to me now to try and show some good form.

"I need to get in the team and stay in the team and put some good performances in and twist the gaffer`s arm to keep me on.

"I feel fit, I still do the running with the lads and still feel up there with the fittest of the bunch. I`m enjoying it and enjoying training so I don`t want to stop playing for City yet."

With all due respect to Sinclair I feel he has more to prove than just delivering in the odd game.

He needs to show a consistency in fitness and performance and deliver where it matters, on the pitch.

I hope the club hold out on offering a new deal until Trevor has proven he has something to offer. It seems the club is paying out far to much in wages for players that rarely feature and it is about time that stopped.

The folly of buying ex-internationals? The club will never learn.
