Reyna Blow

Reyna Blow

City midfielder, Claudio Reyna, is set to miss the next six weeks of the season after x-rays revealed a broken foot. Reyna has been in fine form this season, forming an effective midfield partnership with Joey Barton.

With the January transfer window almost upon us this latest blow surely means the purse strings will have to be opened. The squad is threadbare at the best of times and midfield was always seen as a priority for strenghthening, now it must be seen as essential.

This latest injury must also bring into question the wisdom of offering Reyna a new contract. Despite his upturn in form the player is far to often unavailable through injury and could become a liability as he gets older. Sort it out City.
