VMC's Some Might Say: Up Four The Cup

Through the most routine of professional wins, The Blues find themselves No.10 in the hat for the FA Cup Fourth Round draw. Post Match Reaction to the Watford game...

David Platt:
'In the end it was straight forward. We're pleased with the result. We didn't get the third goal that really finished it off until right at the end. That second goal just before half time really takes the stuffing out of them and that second half we controlled the way the game was going to be played.

'Marcos has played five minutes at the end of an FA Cup tie and he's scored a goal. He should be proud of what he's done but equally he should be up tomorrow and ready to train hard which he will be because he's got a good temperament and he won't let this go to his head.'

Gianfranco Zola:
'I think the 3-0 scoreline was a little bit harsh on us. We played some good stuff and created some very good chances but, you are playing against the Champions and when you see them playing you understand why they are Champions...Even though we have been defeated by the Champions, we will improve.

'I worked with Mario for Italy U21s and even though that was a short spell, I have a real affection for him. I do care about him and when he came on he caused us so many problems. You have to understand his potential and you have to master it...It is not down to me to say whether he should stay at Manchester City or go. I am only concerned that a young man with a lot of potential should be allowed to shine.'

John Eustace:
'For City to get another one just before half-time, that was a tough challenge for us to handle mentally. But I thought we coped really well and went out there in the second half and gave a decent performance. Our lads have played some really good football today - and City don't just let you do that, by the way, you've got to earn the space and your passes...I hope some of the younger boys in the squad have really grasped that chance to learn today. I think it's been fantastic for everyone at Watford to have had a chance to take something from today.'

CITY ON TWATTER:

Vincent Kompany:
'Felt good to play in the FA Cup again! Both sets of fans were great and after this result I can only say, we're hungry for more! #MCFC'

Kun Aguero:
'The studies confirmed I have a torn muscle. We have to keep on thinking positive and try to recover in the best way possible...For that, I've travelled to Italy where a specialist is treating me. I'll keep you up to date in how the injury evolves. I couldn't watch the @MCFC game, but I know my mates played a great game for the fa cup. C'mon city!!'
