10m For Rodwell

Rumour has it that City are close to selling Jack Rodwell to Sunderland, with 10m coming our way for the England international.

It is said that he is on Wearside for a medical and to hold talks with his signing for Gus Poyet's side to be confirmed anytime now?

The loss of another of the home-grown players to our squad will be a blow, although things haven't really worked out for Rodwell at City have they? Injuries have held him back significantly with others now ahead of him in the pecking order.

I still think that the 23-year-old, when fit, is a class act but for City to make a loss, wages aside, of 'only' 2m on the 12m paid to Everton in 2012 after just 25-appearances for the club that isn't a bad deal really....

Others snippets of news in the past 24-hours or so has seen City confirm that we'll be paying all of Frank Lampard's wages during his loan for the first part of the season and Samir Nasri has 'hinted' that he will be retiring from international duty with France following his world cup omission.
