Michael Oliver Takes Charge Of Man City v Liverpool

The Premier League has appointed (baby face) Michael Oliver to referee this weekend's fixture between Manchester City and Liverpool.

Assistants
Stuart Burt & Stephen Child

Fourth Official
Craig Pawson

Michael Oliver

The 32-year-old Geordie and self-confessed Newcastle United supporter began his professional career in 2005 when, he began to apply his trade, having been promoted from the Northern League in the Football Conference. The Football League beckoned in 2007 and then three years later Michael found himself the youngest referee applying his trade in the Premier League. In 2012 football's governing body saw Oliver's potential by making him a FIFA listed ref, meaning he's authorised to officiate games in European and International matches.

Season 2016/17

Out of 33 mainly Premier League games, with the odd sprinkle of FA Cup, WCQ and UCL matches Mr Oliver has so far brandished 101 yellow and four red cards.

Games involving MCFC

Friday 6 January 2017
FA Cup
West Ham 0-5 City
Not a single card was issued to either team!

Saturday 10 December 2016
Premier League
Leicester City 4-2 City
Fernando saw yellow while three
Leicester players went into the ref's book.

Saturday 15 October
Premier League
City 1-1 Everton
No City player saw a card while two Everton players went into the naughty book.

Can Mr Oliver keep his cards close to his chest? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
