Barry's Pride At Equalling Appearance Record
Former England midfielder Gareth Barry equalled Ryan Giggs' Premier League record of 632 games last weekend.
The 36 year old former Aston Villa, Manchester City, Everton and now West Bromwich Albion player has also now become the first person to make 600 Premier League starts.
Speaking to the BBC having equalled the record in West Brom's recent game with West Ham, Barry explained.
'It's a proud moment for me. It is a huge number. It is lucky I have managed to keep fit throughout the years. It is not until I look back when I hang my boots up that I will realise what a big number it is.'
He's equalled the record 19 years and 137 days after first making his debut for Aston Villa aged 17 against Sheffield Wednesday on May 2, 1998, and he went on to say.
'I still remember my so well, so much has happened since, it has gone quick. I will stop when I stop enjoying it and I will know when I have had enough and can't keep up with the boys.'
