Is Micah United bound?

Speculation about the future of Micah Richards has always been high on the agenda for any Manchester City fan. However this week seems to have produced the most ridiculous rumour yet.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is reported to be planning an audacious bid to bring Manchester City defender Micah Richards to Old Trafford. A close source to Richards said: "There is interest from United but whether anything happens is another thing given the rivalry in Manchester.``

Manchester City have said all season that Richards is not for sale, and a bid from arch rivals United is unlikely to change City`s mind. However with no fresh information that a takeover is likely, could City benefit from the money they would receive. It is believed Manchester City want as much as £20 million for the England international.

Ex City and United Player Peter Barnes has urged Micah Richards to stay put, as he believes he is still learning his trade.

"If I was Micah I would just sit tight at City no matter who said they wanted me and keep on learning my trade. He is liked by the fans and playing for the Blues has not done him any harm or stopped him winning England caps and I am sure City will still be in the Premiership next season"

As a Manchester City fan, I beg Stuart Pearce not to even consider this swoop. Any money we do receive will probably be spent on players like Corradi who in his first season is already set to leave in the summer.

Come-on City lets keep hold of our star players for once.

Any money from his sale would be used to service the debts and help pay off Wardle and Makin, not on bringing in new players.

Speculation about the future of Micah Richards has NEVER been on the agenda for any Manchester City fan at all. Only the agenda of lazy journalists. Here we see the fabulous Daily Mirror make up another fairytale and every media source in the country jumps on the bandwaggon. Ridiculous!
