More Reliable Than An Octopus 2017/18? (18/10/17)

More Reliable Than An Octopus 2017/18? (18/10/17)

A new season, a new special computer crunching the numbers to determine the final Premier League positions for 2017/18.

Here are the updated Premier League predictions for the season of 2017/18 after all sides have played eight games of the campaign.

Who goes down?! Who is the current favourite to lift the title this year.

Well you don't have to guess.

With all playing eight games in the Premier League season of 2017/18, the current favourite to lift the title are the current leaders - Manchester City. Their early season form has seen them leap to top spot with seven wins.

The computer currently has them remaining in top spot, ahead of Manchester United but nine points, and Tottenham Hotspur by a whopping 28 points.

Watford surprisingly take fourth place predicted to be sat on 68 points and Chelsea take the last European spot sitting on 66.

Liverpool are their nearest challengers on 60.

At the other other end of the table, the three sides currently predicted for the drop are Huddersfield Town on 33, Bournemouth on 30 and Crystal Palace are predicted to have 9 points only after 38 games.

The one thing that can't be ignored though is there is a hell of a lot of football still to be played and sides start well and fade away and others find form as the months tick by, but this is a bit of fun - I wouldn't bet your house on it!

The predictions are a reflection on the season so far, and absolutely nothing more, and in most cases the next fixture weekend could cause wholescale changes to the table.
