Oleksandr Zinchenko - The Boy Who Had A Dream

Oleksandr Zinchenko - The Boy Who Had A Dream

Two summers ago Manchester City spent less than £2m for an unknown Ukraine midfielder from an unknown Russian Premier League team.

July 2016 - the ink on the City contract hardly had time to dry before the 19-year-old was shipped out to PSV Eindhoven on a season long loan.

Season 2017/18 and look at him now?

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Moved to left-back to cover injured Benjamin Mendy and then Fabian Delph the left-footed Kevin De Bruyne lookalike has surprised the hell out of everyone. His quick thinking, pace and passing accuracy has blown everyone away.

City contract

As it stands his contract runs until July 2021 however, a recent media outlet suggested Pep and City's management team has been so impressed with his willingness to learn and adapt to anything placed in his way a new deal worth £50,000-a-week is on the table.

If true, the new deal is well and truly deserved, bearing in mind and up until recently he was a 'no body'.

Couple of questions

What is his current market value?

What will happen when Mendy returns?

I think everyone knows who`s more beautiful 🙈😝🤣

Next season

Oleksandr will undoubtedly have to adapt yet again if he is to remain part of the first team squad. I just wonder what sort of plans Pep has for him.
