Barton Suspended

Although details are still sketchy, Joey Barton has been named as the City player banned by the club untill the end of the season.

Manchester City issued the following statement this afternoon.

The Club`s Head of Communications Paul Tyrrell said: "We can confirm that a player has been suspended until the end of the season, pending an internal investigation into a training incident at the Carrington complex.

"The Club will be making no further comment at this time."

Although the club are not yet releasing a name all media sources have identified Barton as the player suspended.

Eye witnesses at Carrington have confirmed that there was a serious incident involving Dabo and Barton and that Dabo left the training ground in an ambulance.

Until more details become apparant I am loathe to comment too much. Needless to say things aren't quite as harmonious as the management would have us believe.

As for Barton? I would hazard a guess that his MCFC career is over if he is found to be to blame.

Just what we needed before the derby.

There cannot be many Manchester Derbies that we have gone into against a background of such instability as the one we are experiencing now. The mayhem we are hearing of now highlights the deep divisions and unrest amongst the players rumoured heavily around Manchester and recently publicly aired by players themselves in the media. Arguing on the pitch is increasing. This incident is inexcusable and many of us have just about had enough of Barton. Incidents like this make the club a laughing stock and do not show a good image to investors. Whatever anybody says the manager has failed to unite his squad. A top to bottom clear out and rebuilding at the club can only begin to clear up the whole shambles.

That boy is a cock, I went to the Arsenal v Man City game at the Grove, your support was first class, how can he be such an *********? In ten years time he will be one of those "if only" pro footballers, regretting what he is doing now, *****ed up on the dole after trying to sell latvian toasters on a sunday market.

What is wrong with this guy?!?! He is a disgrace to Manchester City football club and arguably football, he wastes the talent that he has!

I tend to agree boys. He's had far too many final warnings. Time for the club to ***** him off imho.

Further evidence - should we need it that the chasms in the dressing room are irreconcilable -testiment to a failure in management. Unfortunately now, the angle is all about Barton (the violent loose cannon), not the rank amateurs supposed to be managing the first team. It undermines, perhaps definitively, Barton and his recent criticism of Pearce -which is doubtless convenient to some.
