From day one of his professional career when Joey Barton misplaced his number 24 shirt at half time at the riverside, that deprived him of his debut as a raw academy graduate ,up until the present time, Joey Barton has never been in the press for the right reasons.

Joey has always let our fabulous club down. Not only has he let down the club & the fans that have always forgave & worshiped him regardless of the crime & the manager that has always maintained faith in his young protégé, but more tragically & importantly, he has let himself down.

Do I need to remind you of Joey`s catalogue prior to the latest episode? Remember James Tandy? Spurs away in the cup? Thailand? Ill informed Transfer request? Tirade of abuse against team mates (arguably right words, but wrong time & place)

Joey has always appeared to turn it around with the right action & the right words & no one can argue that his performances week in week out have never been less than 100%. This culminating in a well deserved & no doubt proud call up to represent England at senior level.

Joey has talent, of that there is no doubt. He also possesses a heart the size of a lion & generally he keeps a lid on it on the pitch & without him in our trenches & without his goals, we would have struggled even more than we have done so this year.

All things considered, there must be a limit. A line that can`t be crossed & if this is crossed, the consequence must be faced. Yesterday, Joey Barton crossed that line.

At the risk of cutting our nose off to spite our face & to maintain our reputation as a famous upstanding family club with morals, standards & traditions. A club that we are all terrifically proud to be associated with, Joey Barton should never represent Manchester City F.C ever again

We will not miss him when he has gone as it showed earlier in the year when he was suspended for three matches we won two and drawn one, so for me it will be good riddance. We have more than a capable replacement in young Michael Johnson

good article, but what did he actually do ? i heard there was atraining ground bust up, but no one has said what he did and teh PFA is supporting him, so is he not entirely wrong ?

So this isn't a manifestation of collapsed team unity, morale, irreconcilible dressing room splits, frustration and abject failure due to poor management? It's all about Barton, our tragic and warped protege. Handed it to Pearce on a plate!

As far as I understand, the incident is subject to an internal hearing which will convene at the end of the season. The club may be in different hands at that point.

Just a shame you guys didnt ship him out earlier when yous could have got more for him.When the new board come in yous will have the money to cope without him.Speaking as a Villa fan I hope yous get the thai chap,ranson is a cowboy.
