Pearce Sacked

In a move that stinks of 'typical City' the most invisible board in the Premiership today announced the termination of Stuart Pearce's contract as manager of Manchester City Football Club.

That the move should have been made six months ago is now irrelevent. That the sacking is only confirmed by the following short, terse statement;

Manchester City can confirm that the Club has terminated the contract of Manager Stuart Pearce with immediate effect.

Chief Executive Alistair Mackintosh said: "The Board of Directors would like to thank Stuart for his hard work and service during his six years here at Manchester City and wish him well for the future."

Simply confirms what we've come too expect from a club that makes the old Soviet Union look open in its dealings.

Despite my deep rooted criticism of Stuart Pearce in the last six months, I do wish him well. He was a genuine, nice guy manager and like all blues I wanted him to be a success.

Unfortunately he was out of his depth at this level and didn't it show. The time is right to move on; let's only hope the board now follow.
