I thought Hamman shone in an unglamourous position. Could the German be the surprise package under a amanger that knows what he's doing?

Watched the match on the internet. The highlights did not do Hamann justice and is SGE bit of experience he was talking about.

Have to agree, I voted for Hamann, as the holding midfielder he was constantly breaking up play & his passing was excellent. His type of player though crucial, tends to go un-noticed.

We suddenly have options in all directions, Blues! Agree with ronin. Hamman could be losing the "Mac" and "aman" from his nickname if he keeps this form up!

Just goes to show, what a manager who has tactical sense can do with players who, the fans were ready to throw out. I can see in Samaras that he has talent, but not £6 million quids worth, but can Svennis do anything with him?

If Samaras is played in his correct position and gets the service that was missing last season then he could become a £10 million player.

DD, compared with the Hamann of last season, this was brilliant and thats why we got him in the first place, Pearce just did not know how to use him. I agree Alphie b. we have to remember that he is only young and needs to learn the game and last season I think he learnt nothing playing out of position, I just do not know if Svennis will see if he has the talent. Svennis is also not sure about letting Schmikes and Hart face United in the Derby, not experienced enough to play against them,I just wish that we could have played them later in the season. Against Derby, even the selection of the bench becomes interesting.
