'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Nedum Onuoha On Pearce

Nedum Onuoha discusses the qualities of former Man City boss and current Under-21s manager Stuart Pearce before tonight's game against Bulgaria, as he reveals why Man City will do well this season.

'It's really nice to meet up as a squad because a lot of us have been playing together for a long time, in some cases since the Under-16s and it feels like a proper club. We are like family and that helps us dig in when we have to.

'I like working under Stuart Pearce, who I obviously know well from City, and I think he is learning a lot all the time about coaching at international level. He is still young for a coach and he will get better and better.

'At City we have slipped just a little bit over the last couple of games after those three straight wins at the start of the season. We don't think we have gone off the boil or anything and we are convinced we can have an impact this season.'

For all SP's shortcomings at least he gave the youngsters a chance which is now paying great dividends.

Didn't have much choice - they pulled him out of a hole frankly - he did overplay Richards don't forget. Nedum's a smart lad, and evidently a diplomat.

He Did CC but only after he fell out with Mills and sun and onuoha were both injured, and I agree then he over played him and we lost him at a vital time of the season, but water under the bridge.
