Nedum Onuoha On Promising Start

Nedum Onuoha On Promising Start

In his new www.icons.com diary Nedum Onuoha tries to pinpoint why Man City have had such a promising start to the 2007/08 Premiership campaign as he looks forward to tomorrow's game against Newcastle.

'One of the main reasons for our turnaround this season is that the squad has got more match-winners in it now. When you look around the dressing room at the end of the game it's not just one or two players who stand out for their contributions - it's spread around the whole team. That has a positive effect on everyone.

'Not only have the new faces come in and settled in at the City of Manchester Stadium really quickly, but the academy is representing itself very well too. Young players like Michael Johnson and Micah Richards are flourishing, even though so many new faces have come in over the summer, it's good to have lots of players trying to impress.'
