All Around The World

City Fans Are Everywhere!!

Whilst on holiday in Stoupa, Greece I was delighted to see a local registered car with City stickers all over the back window.

Later during my vacation I was even more impressed to see that the local gym and health club had a huge flag pole with a Man City flag flying proudly above the building!

No problems with planning permission it would seem. In addition, the unknown Blue fanatic also had a street sign alongside the adjoining wall naming the place Maine Road! Sheer class!

Reading the many forums across the worldwide web it is always interesting to see that City fans are situated all over the world. Many I expect, unlike the rags, are ex-Mancs who have moved on.

However, it would always be interesting to hear why fans from further afield and indeed other countries support our great club.

We all know City fans usually originate from Manchester, as indeed do united fans from China or London, so tell us why you are a Blue and lets have your thoughts on how well we will do this season.

Will the rags manage to stay above us? Can the Gunners hold on to top spot? Who will Sven buy during the January transfer window?

I suppose for me it goes back to my parents who were at Maine Road in 1934 along with more than 84,000 people to see the match against Stoke City. I have been living the dream since I went to Wembly in successive years '55 & '56. Top four here we come !!!

Alphieb, you have had the dream 69,70,71,League, cup, league cup x 2, european cup winners cup, some of these kids have not had anything like what we have seen. been to wembley 5 times toi watch them, didn't go to the play off with gillingham. What days. Two or three additions, strengthen the squad, we might even have a decent team.

My first ever game was 1965 maine road, 0-0 against Charlton, 15 years old, got the train to Belle vue, then the 53 to platt lane, stood in the Kippax, the atmosphere electric. Had some ups and downs since then.

agree Alphieb, need the two you mentioned and a class goalie. Schmeichel the elder was worth a lot of points to the rags, we need someone similar. I think Isaksson is injury prone, but is our best Goalie, but he needs games, first team games, not reserves.
