Barton ... No Class

Joey Barton has ensured his reputation amongst City's supporters is now in tatters. Not only has he turned his back on the club and its supporters, despite their undeserved support, he has now rubbed their faces in it by standing by his transfer request and suggesting that the club is not big enough for him.

In a statement released earlier today, Barton suggested that his decision to request a transfer was not purely to do with money. Having made that claim he then suggested that the club had not met the wage demands that his stature demanded.

Now I do not claim to be an expert on wage increases but if my boss were to offer me a 100% pay rise after standing by me in two high profile gross misconduct cases I think I'd snap his hand off. Actually I'd consider myself still lucky to be in that job and lay low for a while, getting on with that job and proving my worth to the company.

Sadly footballers don't live in that real world. More so, footballers that are represented by the parasite that is Willie McKay do not live in a world that displays the slightest degree of integrity and class. Yes we all want the best we can get from our employer's, and most certainly we live in a take take world, but Joey Barton is an extremely lucky individual who is not only talented but also has understanding employers and a degree of hero worship most young lads could only ever dream of.

I've got a message for you though Joey. You've lost that hero worship and you are considered a Judas. Not because you are displaying the arrogance of most other footballers, but because you've bitten the hand that has fed you and supported you through your hard times. Manchester City stood by you at your lowest moments and you've thrown it back at them with interest. Do a SWP by all means and sit and rot in United/Arsenal/Liverpool reserves but remember SWP will always be welcome back. Sadly you won't, quite simply because you've shown no class or loyalty. Your just another Scouse scally with too much money and so lacking in intelligence that you believe every word Willie has told you. The big boys weren't climbing over each other with their bids today were they? That may answer what your worth is as a footballer. You couldn't make it up.
