MCFC Vital MOTM Awards Update

Gelson Fernandes' drive and determination saw him land our Man of The Match award at Portsmouth just ahead of Joe Hart...

...and there is a pattern emerging. Manchester City are far from a one man team led by Elano as a variety of players have shone in different games outside of The Brazilliant One's obvious star performances...

The Portsmouth Away Verdict...

Hart 29%

Petrov 12%

Dunne 12%

Richards 6%

Corluka 2%

Ireland 2%

Hamman 2%

Elano 2%

Garrido 2%

Results So Far This Season...

Elano 4 (v WHU A, Blackburn A, Newcastle H, Boro H)

Corluka 2 (v Birmingham H, Sunderland H)

Richards 1 (v united H)

Dunne 1 (v Arsenal A)

Bianchi 1 (v Bristol City A, LC)

Hi guys - is Matt Mills still your player? He's been scoring some comical own goals!

Like all our loan players they just cannot resist scoring...I think it is something like 16 at the last count.

Just a thought, how come all of sudden when we reach the top half of the league that there are rumblings about too many foreign players.

Jealousy on their part...I notice the comment doesn't come from anyone in the top half of the table.

Nobody could level this at City. It is a concern however, as is the growing power of G14

If you had the choice of City winning the premier or England winning a major trophy. Which would you choose?

JB would you feel different if we did not have a backer?

I have to admit that I am more upset about City losing than England.

Nope, always was City for me. Every time I saw England at old Wembley I found it uncomfortable. The crowd was dominated by cockneys. I have also seen England abroad a few times and vowed to never watch them again after bad experiences with some of the fans. The last straw for me was at a friendly in Paris years ago. A crowd of burberry hatted England supporters were aggressively stalking around the ground looking for trouble. One of them broke ranks and punched a scarfed up French bloke to the ground who was standing with some pals and his young son. The usual offer of "do you want some more" was handed out and off they went as nobody would retaliate. Thanks but no thanks etc.

Please don't get me on my high horse about England who for me a just a bunch of overpaid prima donnas and will not win anything. At the moment there is all this talk about the Israel, Russia game it doesn't really matter who wins this game because England haven't a hope of beating Croatia when we can't beat the likes of Macedonia or Russia. So you can all book your holidays without worrying where England will be next summer.

Agree JB:Couldn't give two fecks about ingerland either - the whole shooting match sucks. My comments regarding the ratio of foriegn players in our leagues is more a concern for the state of the english / british game, the development of our youth and their opportunity to play at the top level. My point about the G14 is that this group intends to establish a north american style marketing entity and closed league structure with no regard for the football pyramid.

JB Two people mentioned that figure to me and one of those was an insider at Blackpool who said they had tried to get him on loan and that was the figure quoted. If that is the case he must be on £12,000 a week, if this is true Sven must rate him very highly.
