Podolski: The Fans Choice!!

Lukas Podolski is the forward the fans want according to Vital MCFC's latest poll.

Podolski topped the poll with a huge 55% of the votes.

The German international is currently struggling to hold down a first team place at Bayern but his class is not in doubt.

The forward was one of the stars of last years World Cup; his goals helping to propel the hosts to a well earned semi-final finish.

Second in the poll was rumoured target Alfonso Alves of Heerenveen with just 17% of the vote.

Tellingly only 5% of those polled wanted Liverpool's Peter Crouch; a figure only 2% higher than those opting for Lee Hughes of Oldham.

Maybe the Boss come here and read the Poll results and achieve the desire of the Man City fans :)

The choice was only compiled from speculation by the media and not necessarily the fans' first choice. As stated earlier, Sven may well think he has the striker situation well covered and look to midfield and defensive cover.

I see for the second season running we have contributed to the Barcodes manager getting the sack...must be some sort of record..

alphieblues, Of the strikers who we have & The strikers who will come, I afraid Sven plan will be change next month from 451 to 145 . :)

Yep, Allardyce a goner and not before time, most Geordies will tell you! Almost Instant Karma for a man whose arrogance had gone into orbit. Many Bolton fans will be laughing tonight. That also has to be curtains for Barton.

There but for the grace with regards BFS. Seriously thought he was City bound when he resigned from Bolton.

podolski is a fantastic player, if he moved to city it would be the move of the season. and u have too many good forwards already, uv still got bojinov to come back too.

I don't think Newcastle have a bad squad and there league position is not in danger of relegation. I personally would like to thank BFS for buying Barton, that was a bargain for us, well made up for the Hamann saga, when he told us it was the easiest 400000 he had made.

Do I sense less of a desperation for new players than this time twelve months ago? That said SP did make one good January purchase in Michael Ball.
