We certainly miss Michael Johnson, although when he is playing you don't notice the contribution he makes to the team, when he is not playing thats when you notice something is missing. The lack of creating chances is a worry and I have noticed that when Bianchi is playing and scoring it is because of the service into the penalty box. I was watching a review of the goals and that was noticeable that all but one of RB's goals came from decent crosses. So please send us a wide right and ask Martin to cross more from the left and play Bianchi from the off.

I was trolling through the comments page of http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/manchester_city/ on the various subjects and coulnd't help thinking that what a load of tripe (City 81 tripe = rubbish) Why can't we be happy with what we have. I am sure that if we had started the season winning a few then losing a few and we were mid table, away from the relegation fight we would have been happy, but because we have so good we want more. It is not easy to bring in quality players in January without paying over the odds for them.

The latest reports suggest that SGE is looking at three players, one Zidic a striker from Valencia, but I don't think it is the striking department where we are short. Also talk of going for Paul Robinson, no doubt in his qualities, but is lacking in confidence, although his performance against us was excellent. I still think we could make the top 6.

Sound analysis, Buzz. I think there is another big factor against us if we sign a big name foreign striker in January. He will have no time to adjust to the pace of the game here and the fitness levels required, unlike most summer signings (outside of ours last year!) who at least have time to build up to the season. El Diablo has really been pitched in at the deep end, even having trained with the squad in December. Unless a new January signing can make an unprecedented immediate impact, we have to seriously look to Mpenza, Bianchi and Vassell raising their game and hope that Bojinov hits the ground barnstorming in late winter if we are to pull off the Euro dream in Sven's first season.

I have just come across an interesting statistic reagarding Michael Johnson this season. In his fourteen appearences we have won 9 games, He has now missed 9 games through injury during which time we have won just 2. This is surely a sign of which position we need to strengthen this month.
