Here come West Ham United.

Shorn of first choice strikers, 3 wins in 19 games as opposed to our 4 wins in 16 and like us, early season form is a distant memory.

They beat us in October, happy to concede corners, possession, shots etc and are just as capable of turning over a City side primed to be set up exactly as we have been all season at the weekend.

Say we win and win well, then it's a stay of execution for Manuel Pellegrini.

But what worries me above all else is how we've seen the nucleus of this City squad do for our manager 2 years ago and if they are beaten on Sunday, then we'll know for sure they've done it again.

There is nothing we saw at the swamp to suggest these players will turn up the gas against West Ham unless Silva and Aguero can make something happen.

Dreading it.

All the teams we have left to play will go hammer and tongs at us and if we can't be *rsed, the prospects are scary. Dreading it too, Mr. B. but hoping to be proved wrong.

What have we come to? I thought the days when I didn't look forward to match day were a dim and distant memory. I believed that the feeling that once we conceded a goal we have not a cat in hell's chance of getting back into a game were history. I thought all that had changed.

Seems I was wrong.

Big Sam has the nouse to get a result out of this game and with Pellegrini almost inevitably (as sure as night follows day) revert to 4-4-2 we are likely to see a repeat of the same pattern as the ball is passed around in ever decreasing circles by the City players in front of the massed ranks of defending opponents .........until we concede a goal on the counter offer from a set piece and THEN the tempo goes up in the last ten minutes :doh!:

This lot are now giving me added incentive to take on the Price Gouging Sky who want to charge me 8% more for their services - watching them is not a pleasure at the moment.

Himself fit and firing would have been ideal.

Bony.

We need him in the mix.

No return date on Wilf but Jovetic should be back.

Tell you what - I'd sit Yaya Toure out of this one as a message to the rest of the squad.

You know what, at least Jovetic plays like he gives a shit. The ball might go anywhere with flicks and darts but he has a shot on him.

Toure. Cakegate and downwards. If never selected again that would do for me.

I think the sight of our Current Number 42 on the berti might, just might make one or two sit up. Stick one of the kids in there instead to show him what appetite looks like. Leave Our Current Nuber 10 out of the squad if Jovetic is fit.

We need to get a settled defence. That's Kompany, Mangala, Zabba and Clichy; a battling midfield that's Milner, Silva, Fernandinho, Jovetic and Yaya (shop window); Sergio up top. Stick with it bar form and injuries. Rest have to play their way into the team. Rotation is false and we're seeing the downside of not playing players on merit.

Fat Sam is a canny manager, he would love to chalk the double over us. We have the players to take this game with an early goal. Then Fat Sam's plans do not work. Dropping Yaya is pointless, he was by no means the worst on the park last game.

don't say that JK, haven't you got the memo? It's all Yaya's fault.

I think he was exposed at the weekend by a number of team mates not doing their jobs but he doesn't do himself any favours.

Always done my head in when, for example, he doesn't get a decision and just lies there in a huff or slowly drags himelf to his feet to amble back.......mind you he is not alone in the 'Recovery Runs Are Not For Me' Brigade. Kolarov is another favourite to use the Micah Richards Recovery Template (TM) :doh!:

Our two golden boys are just as bad Skoorb and on Sunday this is where the root of the problem was. Going forward they were fine, it's going the other way where they're just as non existent as Yaya is.

I'm sorry but like I've said before, this scapegoat culture gets right up my nose.

There's a whole host of factors to why we find ourselves in the position we're in, putting it down to one player's failings is ridiculous, collectively we've been poor.

BD we have discussed this before 42 has not been
Interested this season no lung busting runs dragging
Defenders with him.
He doesn't want to be here fair enough but he is such a
Big player he does influence other players including no backbone 8
I agree other players have not pulled their weight.
This give up attitude has as you say come to the fore
Since the window closed, but 42 has had a poor season by his high standards

As HCC suggests, Pellegrini has not selected an XI on merit this season. It's all been about rotation or to a much lesser extent, reputation. Toure can be included in the latter.

3 years ago at this time Mancio selected a settled XI for the run-in and we won the title.

I'll wager had he selected upon form rather than trying to accommodate everyone regardless of their efforts we'd be in a better place right now.
