Well it is here. The BIG ONE. The Title Decider. The BIGGEST game in the Premier League EVER……..

or so I expect the hype from the media to portray this game against the runaway Champions Elect, Chelsea - so say 22 out of 30 pundits polled by the BBC......

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33764700.

Well it is, as they say, very early days and far too early to read much into either club’s results after Game 1 and given how many points City clawed back on Chelsea last season before Christmas and how they caught the rags in the famous title winning season 2011/12 then it would be foolish to read much into any result in the second round of fixtures. Except……..

Except, except, except….. that this is no ordinary game. Far from it. No game against a team managed by the despicable Moaninho is ever an ordinary game. This is a chance for markers to be put down, for statements to be made and for teams and players to set out their stall for the gruelling months ahead. In his post match interview after City’s comprehensive, efficient and effective victory over WBA, City captain Vincent Company made it quite plain that there was a focus back for him and the rest of the players to reassert themselves. Whilst the efficient, composed and assured victory over Pulis’s Assassins last Monday was a great opening prologue, a victory over the Despicable One’s mob on Sunday would deliver an even more significant Second Act instilling confidence and strengthening the sense of belief amongst the players and the club in general.

As we have seen throughout the week it is never too early to be making statements as Moaninho has been playing the same old record……do whatever it takes to distract the media from a poor result. Having conceded two points he would have been banking on against a spirited Swansea team he immediately switched into Damage Limitation Mode and through the smoke and mirrors of firstly an appeal against Courtois’s red card (seriously?) and then publicly (& unfairly IMO) criticising his medical staff for their ‘naivety’ in treating Hazard on the pitch. The transparency of the comments he made into this border on bringing the game into disrepute as he was, again IMO, implying that they should have known that Hazard was not really injured (quel surprise) and refrained from going on. In other words Hazard was trying to break up the game and defuse any momentum Swansea might build up. Leopards and their spots eh?

What can we expect from Chelsea this weekend? No push overs, plenty of theatrics from Hazard and Diego Baby Costa and some meaty tackles from his midfield hatchet men Matic and Willian no doubt. The big question for City fans is whether Pellegrini will risk his prize ‘crack’ player, Sergio Aguero , from the start or retain the strength and willing effort of Wilfried Bony? Will Sagna be retained in place of the acknowledged No 1 club right back, Pablo Zabaleta? The goal Kompany scored will have done the skipper the world of good - a cathartic moment I felt and his reaction was reminiscent of the fateful header against the rags in the title run in three years ago. I hope it spurs him and the rest of the team on to deliver a significant blow to the egos and confidence of one of our main PL rivals.

Oh and I expect a similar display or moronic behaviour from the Kings Road muppets as they leap onto the ‘We Hate Raheem Sterling’ Bandwagon and booing him whenever he comes into contact with the ball. I thought long and hard this week about whether to post an article on the front page about the Boo Boys and the stupid, lemming-like nature of the idiots who, with no ‘skin in the game’, still decide to berate a young man who has done nothing, NOTHING, to offend their club or supporters. But I decided that I could not be asked to deliver to them the oxygen of publicity. Whilst I still believe that the actions of this brain dead minority remains reprehensible the best and only way for it to be battled is for our fans to support the young lad by drowning out the boos with our crowds cheers. Sterling can do no more than get his head down and let his football do the talking. City fans can do their part at the game by cheering him on and showing that he is now one of our players and deserves our support. Come on Raheem!

Finally, through a combination of monumental bad planning in selecting a spouse whose birthday falls at the start of the football season ( :doh!!!:) doh) coupled with the crass decision by the PL fixture computer to throw out such a key game at this stage of the new term I shall not be able to watch the game as I will have to be relaxing at a Spa as we celebrate Mrs Skoorb’s forthcoming birthday. I hope I don’t fidget and seem too distracted between 4-6.20pm……..I expect it to be torture not knowing the score!

Come On You Blues!!!

Looks like a veritable sh*tstorm is heading Chelsea's way over this whole Carneiro issue. Mourinho's brought it all on himself and anything that adds to his list of woes is grist to City's mill on Sunday. Come on you Sky Blues!!

I don't think Aguero should start. Stick to the plan and introduce him slowly - 60th minute. Plenty of time for him to make his mark.

Kun must start, he is the best striker in the prem. What are we saving him for? this is a very important game. As for Chelsea and Maureen the press can say what they want, we should stay focussed on that all important 3 points.

I think he's said he's not sure himself if he's fit yet jk. Maybe bring him on with 30 minutes to go if we need him. It's a long season and a shame for him to pull up with a muscle strain and miss him for 6-7 games just for this one, very important clash.

A City win and the result is played down, ie "too early for it to have an impact on the title race"

A draw, and Moaning Mini will be haled as a tactical genius

A Chelsea win, and not only is Mini a genius, but City's title challenge is over, Pellegrini is getting the sack, and the entire first team are going on the transfer list.

You didn't hear it here first! :blah!: :blah!: :blah!:

I heard their (banned) keeper referred to the other day by John Murray on the BBC as "Tibby". Now granted he's just an annoying commentator to begin with but the degree of chummy affection between the media and certain members of the Chelsea team (Johzay....etc) sets my teeth on edge.

Good opportunity to get 3 points and put some pressure on Chelski. Playing with a high tempo and matching their work rate is the best way to get a win from this game.

I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing for us. He has a bad habit of using this sort of thing to bring the team together - siege mentality and all that. On the other hand, this situation is entirely self imposed - there's no 'conspiracy' against his team for this one. Just a knob that thinks he knows better than a highly trained medic.

Supporters are advised that tickets and hospitality for our Barclays Premier League home match against Chelsea have now SOLD OUT.

Supporters are not required to upgrade concessionary tickets for this match.

Sunday marks another historic day for Manchester City Football Club as the newly expanded Etihad Stadium hosts its first Premier League game of the 2015/16 season.

The newly-renovated South Stand will be officially opened at this game and we need your support to make it a moment to remember.

Supporters are asked to take their seats at least 15-minutes before kick-off. There will be ticker tape on each seat in the South Stand and we ask supporters to throw it as the players walk out of the tunnel. The signal will be when the large banners turn through 90° to reveal the newly expanded South Stand.

We ask all supporters to arrive no later than 45-minutes before kick-off to ensure that there are no delays in entering the stadium to join us for these celebrations

I like your thinking JB.

Maybe his players aren't quite ready to follow Maureen's directions to the letter and close us out. We might just have our sh*t together a week or so before they have.

Maybe.......................
