Plenty of contenders today in what was another very good team performance today but who was the cream of the crop?

Another great team effort. Lot's of bright spots, but I went with Sterling and Ferny.

Zaba has his work cut out when he returns from injury, that cross from Sagna for Sterling's goal was exquisite and his defending was Zabba-esque.

Dinho was our best player in the first half, most of our opportunities came from his pressing, his performance deserved the goal and what a hit that was too.

I've also given a vote to Pellegrini for his change of approach at ht. Watford put in a great defensive display in the first half but the gaffer came up with the answer.

Nothing to add to what people have said above: Sterling, fernandinho and Sagna all superb.

Honourable mentions to Kolarov, Silva and yet again Mangala

A lot of the less glam players shone.
Ferny was an immense presence, breaking up their attacks and instigating some for us.
Sagna is putting up a great case to be the starting RB. He cannot do much more than he is at the moment.
Yaya may not have had his lethal shooting boots on but he worked very hard in all aspects of the game .

Fernandinho seemed to be everywhere, Sterling put in a very mature performance and great resilience. Mentions also for Mangala who is showing a growth in confidence in his own ability - great to see him backing himself - and great credit to Pellegrini for identifying what needed to change and then making those alterations at half time. Earned his crust yesterday.

Too often under Mancini we would have come out after a similarly frustrating first half and make no changes until 60+ minutes. Made a telling post match comment about making the change when Watford would not have time to react. :hat off:

Sagna. Thought the cross was superb and the resultant goal transformed the game.

When the other team just come to get a point, it makes football a bit dull. Ferna finally worked out he can shoot and does it very well
