FIFA explain how to commit a foul

I was spurred into looking at this once I saw the League Cup draw and was instantly fearful for Sergio Aguero's health.

I remain convinced that Dann's tackle on Aguero should have been deemed as 'serious foul play' - pages 63-65 of Part 1 and pages 10-11 of part 2.

Lots of other interesting stuff in there too

Part 1

Part 2

He was lucky not to get red but tbh I don't think he intended to catch him so high, I think it was a combination of how quick Aguero spun away and his clumsy effort to try trip him that resulted in him catching his knee. To be fair to Mike Jones too, although I don't like being because he's shit, he was behind the incident so likely didn't see how high Dann caught him.

that why technology is needed, while Sergio was having treatment the 4th ref could have reviewed that and sent the twat off.

similarly i watched the spuds gooners game, i think it was number 16 who went down after a tackle, but the ref played on with the player writhing on the floor, but when he looked up and saw he had not got the free, he got back up and was running round like a spring chicken. simulation, you bet your arse it was, but i do have sympathy for refs who make split second decisions and get lamped for it when they get it wrong.

especially when the pundits and viewers get the slow mo and different angles and sometime things look worse in slow motion than they do in real time.
