Spoilt for choice tonight, who in particular deserves the plaudits?

Where do you begin after a performance like that?

With the exception of Joe Hart (who was merely doing his job) and Kolarov (who sometimes wasn't), every player out there tonight can hold their head high.

I guess I'll have to go for Fernandinho who played like Zidane at times tonight - unlucky not to have a second goal to add to his tally, and defended bravely all night

Second choice will have to be Sterling - he still has a habit of fannying about with the ball when he should simply put his foot through it, but his goal knocked Sevilla's confidence and shut the crowd up early doors - got back well when needed and certainly had his best game in a City shirt tonight

3rd choice will be Fernando - silent assassin who covered the defence and made their lives much easier than it otherwise would have been.

Honourable mentions to Wilf for some fancy footwork, a decent goal and a lot of selfless hold up play, Yaya who clearly enjoys playing in a more advanced role and Navas who really wanted it tonight - who said he couldn't cross eh?

Ferndno outstanding and got my vote. Special mention to the Navas/Sterling wingers- scared them to death. The other fern twin outstanding as well.

Bony excellent in the first half and gave his marker a torrid time. Job done in fine style.

Wont get much press in the UK though as Rugny finally scored for the rags.

The twins did the job, Ferna just edging it from Ferno, with Sterling benefitting from his bench job against Norwich.

Honourable mentions for Navas, Otamendi, Kompany and Bony

but it was a fine team effort and a pleasure to watch.

A great all round team effort tonight with Joe making one World class save. I gave it to Sterling for scoring with his left peg when he had to use it for the first goal. This put them on the back foot and set the tone for the game. How good was it to see both sides having a crack, so out of character for most Euro games with both teams wanting not to lose as a starting point. On a sad note, Rugney scored to put the Swamp top of their group same as us.

Anyone in a glowing the dark shirt, it's hard to pick just one player from the team that played cos everyone had a great game, as everyone gave a MoM performance, so my MoM is every player on the pitch......

The fans did well too.
