I think his future hinges on next summer's Copa America, which is being played in the US. He's been a three time runner-up with Argentina - the 2003 Confed Cup, 2014 World Cup, 2015 Copa America. He's won more trophies with River Plate, Bayern Munich, and City to count. But he wants to win a trophy with his country, and realistically he has two shots left - 2016 and 2018. I think he sticks around if they don't win Copa America to stay fit for the World Cup.

I think he's finished at this level, Denayer should take his place next season.

I don't think he'll start, but would you keep him around for the domestic cups?

Nah mate, he's taking one of those 'foreign spots' which I think would be better used on someone else. Sorry Martin.

Hmm, I forgot about the foreign quotas. Perhaps he won't play for us, but I could see him in the Prem still.

Absolutely - he's been terrific for us but really, do we need players of his age and pace blocking Denayer and Humphreys' route to the top?

Bournemouth - taking over from Distin maybe if he/they want/are able to play in the PL.

If Argentina are serious about winning anything in 2018 they won't be building their defence around MD - no disrespect but...

I'm still a bit surprised that Denayer didn't take his place this season if I'm honest.

Good bye and good luck Martin, you leave with the best wishes of City fans, but your time with us is drawing to a close

I agree with you on this one, Demichelis has had a great late lift to his career with us, but his time has come and you can only run the old pals act for so long I think. :124:
