How Could Brexit Affect Premier League?

What impact would a British exit from the European Union have on the Premier League?

Would it mean that more British footballers had the chance to play in the competition and would it make it harder for European players to be signed by English clubs?

I think it would have a big impact, not for those players who are regular internationals as they would automatically qualify under the points system but those players who are just plying their trade here, specifically in the lower leagues would struggle to comply.

Here common sense should prevail and that if any player is in receipt of a wage and pays taxes here then he should be allowed to stay.

It would also have consequences for the women game.

On the other hand whilst losing quality players the Premier would revert to an also ran, but we would have more home grown players fighting for positions Manchester United would win the league every year

Read the above link Buzz....

Did anyone watch the 'Great Referendum Debate' last night on BBC1?

If I had been undecided prior to the debate then I know at the end of the show I would be voting 'Leave'.

Boris is a 'Dilly' and a bumbling idiot but for some weird reason folk like him.

I was in Birmingham in February and every person I spoke to a man/woman said they were voting to leave.

I was in Salou last week and every single British ex-Pat I spoke to said they were voting to remain.

I think there will be more against leaving than staying, but which ever way it ends up, we will cope.

If we stay in we can work to make the EU better

If we leave we will work to make the UK better.

latest poll 51% remain and 49% leave

if it is close it might make the EU wake up

The big day has dawned. Decision time.

After the most disgraceful, patronising and dreadful campaign it's time to vote.

please vote no matter whether it is to stay or leave use your vote, because this will affect not only only yourself but the generations that follow, if you don't vote you don't have a right to moan.

Never seen our small village polling station so busy.

My vote has been cast - here's hoping!

I hope that they can do something to keep the Ireland situation either in the status quo or to have a united Ireland, but that too will bring it's own unique problems. this decision has implications for everyone and many problems that the leave campaigners did not envisage, but we will survive.

I'm no politic, but I did vote, and, as always, it will be between me and my conscience.

Good question, Bluedub, I have a feeling they will remain in some shape or form.
I managed to stay the course until 4am, my local result came in awhile earlier, but I was slightly surprised to see the result when I woke this morning at about 8.15.

One comment slightly amused me on the 1 o'clock news by McGuinness, Deputy First Minister, blaming the English vote for the Northern Ireland and Scotland electorates, but not mentioning the Welsh!
