Goodness me. Talkshite have really had to scrape the barrell to come up with the latest way of trying to do City down. From 'ruining football' to 'buying the title' I thought we had seen it all. Seems I was wrong.

City have the worst nickname in the Premier League?

Really? FFS guys. Desperate stuff.

Not many City fans I know use the term 'Citizens' and I am well aware that the club have adopted and adapted this name for the club membership scheme but I would believe that the term 'Blues' or 'City' are more commonly used. There is nothing in the footballing world which says that nicknames have to be mutually exclusive despite what Talkshite say.

There are lots of clubs that are referred to as City, they're not wrong there but they ignore the fact that they're only really referred to as City in their own localities. The general football public refer to other clubs that have City in their name by the name of the city itself, for example Leicester, Birmingham, Hull, Norwich etc.

There is only one club that is commonly referred to as City by the general football public, that is Manchester City. We are City.

As for The Citizens, it's not commonly used but as long as I've supported City that nickname has always been associated with the club. Ranking how good a club's nickname is is certainly a new one on me.

Whilst we're on the subject of Talksport I have to mention Colin Murray and the stand he took against Newscorp, good on him, I was never his biggest fan but he has now gone way up in my estimation and I wish him all the best for the future. I hope Talksport rots.

Good points BD.

Totally arbitrary decision taken in the small world of their radio station and little surprise that they opted to stick City at the bottom of this bizarre list. The bottom. Not second from bottom, or third maybe. No. The bottom of the list of 'worst nicknames'. i would say YCMIU.....but clearly someone has. And given that this is arbitrary why have they decided that the 'Citizens' is any worse than any other nickname except and unless bias was being applied.

I didn't catch Colin Murray's comments. What did he say?

He resigned from Talksport because of the Newscorp takeover stating that he couldn't continue because of the future working relationship between TS and the Sun, he signed off with #JFT96
