YCIMU

Unbelievable but makes total sense once you read the article no how the fourth pace would be determined by something called 'Historic Merit'!

FFS. Their FFP proposals totally in tatters the gurus at UEFA, led no doubt by David Gill, have concocted ANOTHER twisted way of the compensating the rags or dippers for their current failings.

What a crock of sh*t.

Champions League rule changes could see automatic qualification for four Premier League clubs every season

UEFA are doing their best to bring in a European League, but through the back door. Its been on the cards for yonks and the so-called 'big clubs' have been banging on about the very same for a similar amount of time.

UEFA are worried that the Premier League is getting too big and popular.

wow that means the rags could finish say 15th and still get in the CL due to them winning it before.

Am I reading this correctly? or is it the top two plus Liverpool and the Rags every season?

The latter I think Buzz. They should rename it an "Entitlement Slot" after all that's what it amounts to.

It's unclear from the article but my assumption is that should the rags or dippers finish fourth then they would be granted a place in the group stage automatically rather than having to undertake the tedious and seriously demeaning necessity of having to engage in the grubby play off games.

Honestly. The gall of European football's governing body knows no bounds. Desperate stuff from the clubs with "history"

News...but not as you know it.
Well it is the Metro.
The practicalities of this are mind numbing
So, for arguments sake, say the top 4 is made up of Chelsea, City, Arsenal & Spurs.
They're suggesting that whoever finished 4th wouldn't qualify for CL, but that one of the more 'historied' clubs would take their place.
But which one?

Not surprised this originates from an italian paper given the Milan clubs piss poor showing in CL in recent years. Even the slackening of the FFP rules (that they demanded) hasn't helped them

I read somewhere (can't find it now) that English teams should be ok for next seasons (2017/18) qualifiers (4 teams), thanks to last seasons points (City & Liverpool). PL teams need to get to this years semi's (Europa - CL) or finals and hope the Italian sides don't win, or reach the respective Euro finals.

If only they had changed the rules when we won the Title, or have they changed the rules because we won the title.
