Just a general thought......what do you think about post match interviews? Is there any point?

Managers pretty much detest them (often approaching them looking like Bulldogs chewing a wasp), players rarely get beyond the standard cliches "game of two halves, we gave outer all for the boss, grateful for the opportunity, keep fighting....."

Do they add anything other than the chance for the media to elicit an unfortunate comment from a manager especially in the heat of the moment? Do they add any value? Would you do away with them?

They can be an occasional insight into decisions made during the game, or for instant updates on the health of players taken off injured, but in general, there's not much of interest. Don't have any problem with them though

If we had a manager who put his foot in his mouth every presser, then I would say yes, do away with them but, happily with PG (and Mr. P. before him), we don't.
It's highly entertaining when the others say something stupid or incendiary.

I think they try and trap players and managers into saying something controversial, especially managers who say things in the heat of the moment , without the benefit of replays or the like.

I don't see the point in them otherwise

They're a requirement of the TV contracts though, so they'll continue whether we pay attention or not

I had a think about this and it is a demand from the media, the fans like them and want to hear things like how and why did Vinnie come off e.g.
