He gave some bizarre decisions.

As I pointed out elsewhere he failed to punish Cabaye for persistent foul play and even penalised him for diving but failed to book him. There was a trip on Aguero on the edge of the box just before our first goal and a Cabaye trip of Nolito as City broke forward and from their regained possesion Benteke had his header saved by Bravo. Later on Aguero was penalised by the assistant on the far side for an apparent handball which bemused everyone including the Palace players.

He was very poor.

I think there is zero chance that Puncheon will be cited for his foul on Zabaleta.

There's this 'did he/they see it properly' ruling, that was used to cite Aguero for his incident with Reid in the West Ham game.
It was pointed out elsewhere that a free kick was given, so it really all depends. We'll see.

I saw a bit of a spat on Twitter the other day involving Gary Lineker, after a couple of City fans posted about it not being mentioned on MOTD (I didn't see it).
Lineker admonished the City fans for the accusations of hypocrisy, saying the incident had no effect on the game, thereby giving the impression that's the sole criteria; yet we were leading West Ham at the time.

Yet who had virtually the last kick of the game, that could've led to a goal/assist?

It wasn't shown in the MOTD highlights and they did not discuss it in their 'analysis' (sic)

For Lineker to say it had no impact on the game is just plain wrong for two reasons.

1. It was off the ball and under the new rulings would have been deemed a red card offence thereby League Palace a man short for the remainder of the game. Who knows what effect that would had including.....

2. It was the offending player who very nearly equalised in the dying minutes - and that most clearly would have been regarded as having a material impact on the outcome.

Lineker was/is wrong

Did he mean it had no effect on the result? We were 3-1 come the last kick of the game

Not sure if I've got my wires crossed Colin. Was this Twitter-spat between Lineker and the fans about the Puncheon incident in the Crystal Palace match?

The FA's disciplinary body has reviewed the incident and there is no charges brought against Puncheon.

I am afraid it was a drop ball and the palace [layer kicked it straight down field to Bravo, no free kick was awarded for the incident, which means they did not see it. Which would be reasonable as the incident was off the ball and the officials would be looking where the ball was.

Yes, Lineker was referring to the Palace game. At the time of the Aguero incident, we were 2-1 up against WHU.

That bemuses me. Why re-interpret the laws of the game if you then don't follow them?

Bluedub also pointed this out earlier in the thread - I stand corrected. This makes Dub's post about no further action even more bemusing.

For the third time already this season, I'd say he's probably as sick of the sight of us as we are of him but then he seems to have problems with his sight so he's probably nonplussed.
