Manchester City v Spurs - 5.30pm GMT Sat 21st Jan 2017 - Premier League Match Day Thread
22 January 2017 09:32 Post ID: #593014 - in reply to #593004
Highlights: Man City 2-2 Spurs Plus Blues Video Debrief

Match referee Andre Marriner certainly made a couple of howlers at the Etihad Stadium yesterday but hey, we have to live with the fact that referees and officials are only human and prone to making mistakes. It’s just a pity Manchester City FC appear to receive more poor refereeing decisions than most.

Did Spurs pick our pocket?

Massive credit to Pep - I thought he got his tactics spot on yesterday

Can I have some of that credit ? Even though I would have gone with Jesus instead of Sterling at the start , and Nando instead of Yaya . The 4-3-3 with pace out wide is the solution for me , as it can switch in to 4-3-5-1 easily.

Here was my team earlier in the MDT

A Body

Sagna Stones VK Kolorov

KDB Nando DS

Sane SA Jesus.

Slightly different on personnel , but the tactic is the same . KDB and DS behind two flyers , scares the hell out of any defence.

80 just checked again and Kane was offside for you equaliser, but we are used to getting shafted these days, so no hard feelings, you got away with a couple of important decisions(again)

Marriner screwed us a few times at the beginning of the game which set the tone and allowed your AMAZING front 5 to batter us. We've been screwed plenty of times.

Kane wasn't offside....and Sterling is a tough call because of the camera angle.

Absolutely LOVED Pep calling out the BBC reporter.

What a game to watch!

There isn't an agenda, just lousy refereeing.

Who ever thought Gerrard would be a good pundit is a bone head.

All the best for the rest of the season.

You guys need to finish above Arsenal this season.

Looking forward to seeing more of Gabriel Jesus after his cameo - he certainly didn't seem too shy getting involved yesterday

Sterling has lost penalties ,if HAS the knack of finishing, he could have been our world beater..his missed chances cost us..he should have gone down in the second instance purely ..

Sterling needs to improve his finishing.

He seems to have let doubt creep back in, he's hesitant in front of goal again. It's bizarre when you think of the winner he scored with his weak foot against Arsenal a few weeks back.

I don't believe Sterling will ever be a good finisher, but he must improve if he wants to keep his spot in the first eleven.

This would have probably changed the course of the game

This trial started in August 2016. Apparently it was deemed a success and the degree to which FIFA et al are dragging their feet over this issue astounds me
