Mahrez likes to play from the right, so Sterling will move over where he is less effective I feel. I think the deal will get done and he is just as good as the Orange.

I don't know, JK. £55m is very cheap (in today's climate) for a player of his quality. Leicester don't need to sell and could dig in and sell for big money in the summer. There's no time for them to replace, either.

I think the deal will get done, just a matter of how much, yes 55 is cheap, but we will pay more I feel.

Hmm. I am not sure. Thus will.go to the wire I think and my suspicion is that Leicester will keep cranking up the price. In a previous press conference Puel alluded to Mahrez being worth £100+ in the summer.

I know. WTF?

We do not have a large squad, just 21 players plus EDS stars

Now 22 but if we move Elia, then back to 21, take away Mendy, Sane, Jesus, a dodgy Kompany and Toure (sadly past his best) that gives us 17, any more injuries and we have to pack the bench with players that would not normally make a start.

So Mahez is sound business, if we don't get protection then we may need a ship load to end the season with 11 fit players.

I don't get it, with Sanchez you're talking a world class player that can win you games from nothing, that's why I wanted that to happen, you don't get that with Mahrez despite him being a fine player on his day.

I'd rather Brahim cover for Sané's injury.

It does seem like an opportunity for the young man to step up I agree.

Sane's injury a factor? Had he not been crocked and for such a long period - up to 2 months - perhaps this has forced Pep's hand? He is under pressure there is no doubt to deliver the goods this season and you do wonder whether some senior management are really starting to believe that multiple trophies is attainable......but only with enough personnel.

I know there is the Sanchez reneging on an agreement side of things but there has to be a risk of getting called out for baulking at his demands and then forking out more than he wanted for Mahrez. I take that back - there is zero risk. It will happen irrespective of the 'he went back on his word' angle.

SSN are going to lap this up all day.

Better to get the deal done, get the player and swallow the nonsense rather then get taken to the wire and look silly when the thing falls apart at 10.55pm?

"The Sanchez Dilemma".......a tale of agreements, double-dealing, handshakes and slimy snake oil salesmen.......

The latest instalment in this thriller series will be ........

"The Mahrez Saga"

........an unmissable page-turner involving an unsettled player, enticed by riches & previously jilted whilst he waited in hope in a Paris airport lounge last August as he batted his eyelashes at potential suitors (none of whom turned up)......., a story which will no doubt keep the people in the SSN studio on the edge of their seats ALL day........and probably all evening as well as it drags on and on and on

Eliaquim Mangala Heads To Everton?

One source suggests City will receive a loan fee of approximately £1m and that Everton will complete the deal later today.

On a personal note I have to say I won’t be shedding a tear. Having said that I won’t be sending a taxi to dive him to Goodison either.

In my opinion he hasn’t exactly set the world alight since joining City from Porto in 2014 for a whopping £32m but hey, he’s not been dreadful either. I suppose he’s done okay!

The Prequel to The City Tales is now available from online booksellers.....

Regarded by some as the catalyst for much of what was to follow and perhaps precipitating the actions of Agent Bennett we bring you.....

The Pogba Initiative.

A semi-prophetic tale of evil and unpleasant desires conduct where someone hopes his fellow professionals suffer bad injuries.....

The odds on Mahrez arriving are drifting out. He's odds on to stay at Leicester.

A Money plus player for Mahez, but City not naming the player just yet.

I wonder if it is Yaya or Zinchenko?
