The transfer window closure times.

So the window closes at 11pm in England but midnight in Scotland? What's all that about? Plus deals can still be done by Spanish clubs until 5am BST on 1st Sept - so how come this extended time period for Spain?

Mahrez has been allowed to leave the Algerian training camp to enable him to complete a move to an unnamed new club. Rumours that he checked into a London hotel last night........fuelling speculation that Arsenal might be in the mix adding to the Sanchez saga?

Can't see Delph getting much if any game time at City - maybe revise his options in January? At 27 he needs to be playing regularly.

Re Sanchez - where does he fit in...? We are only an injury and a suspension away from disaster at the back and whilst the 'you score three and we'll score four' is lovely in theory it might not work out quite so well in practice.

He fits in as a versatile attacking player that immediately strengthens our first XI. I'd imagine he'd primarily compete with Sane and Sterling for one of the wide berths, keeping them two on their toes, mentoring the pair of them and also taking some of the pressure of them to deliver week in week out.

We are only one injury and a suspension away from a reliable goalscorer up top.

So should we buy another keeper just in case?

But back to forwards - we could go down the false #9 route with Merlin, works for Spain - or play Sterling up front?

But surely defence must be a priority - compare the amount of attacking midfielders we have with just four centre backs, one of whom we are trying to move on and another who could be described as injury prone.

Basically I don't want to see Aguero pushed out.

Nor do I.

I guess it depends on system but essentially we have 7 players for 4 positions in defence and 12 players for the 6 midfield and attacking positions.

We play attacking football so naturally we're going to have a squad that reflects that.

Kun is part of our great clubs history and I think we all want him to score plenty more goals and become our all time #1 goal scorer. If rotation, rotation is the new way forward and based on last season it surely is then Kun should get his playing time. By the end of deadline day Sanchez will be our new top earner and will expect to play most games, so we will have to see what happens.
I think the pressure on Pep will be enormous this season and more so with the Reds getting off to a good start, but early days yet. So it's attacking easy on the eye football vs the boring pragmatism from the Stretfords, I expect we will end up on top of them and Liverpool also.
