You know it might just be worth trying more often. I know you need the keeper to be day dreaming and way up in 18 yard box, but how often do sides who kick off retain possession for more than a few seconds anyway? Even City opt for the pass back to Kolarov who launches it in the direction of the right wing with it often either going out for an opposition throw or possession lost. The high press that sides initiate because their adrenaline is racing right from the off militate against trying to retain possession in your own half without higher risk so most sides seem to opt for some form of big launch into the opposition half.....

Kick off isn't always the advantage it seems.....
