This looks like something one might see being worn during the Tour de France.

It can only be a matter of time before players wear lycra shorts (as opposed to being worn under football shorts), followed a couple of years later by the first footballing onesies.

Great for babies, scuba divers and sofa loafers.

I'm old fashioned I know, but I wish for the old days when the only time you would wear a different coloured strip was if yours clashed with the home team.
Not much money in that though, is there.?

None whatsoever Ozi. I don!t mind spending money on club merchandise now and then - after all it is money going to support the club right? But as I have seen elsewhere comments on the new eye watering kit prices are pretty negative especially when it comes to those for children.

Doubtless we will still see many wearing the new strip and fair enough but bit does feel like one of those surreal situations where prices are kept high to reflect the 'quality' of the item, i.e. they won't keep them low as people might think the product isinferior as it is 'cheap'. This was the argument which saw all universities (I know it's a stretch from football kits but stay with me) pitch their tuition fees to the maximum limit - they didn't need to we were told at a parents evening but thhe believed that if their didn't, students & parents might think "oh, their fees are lower, the teaching can't be as good as that other college where they charge more".

Anyhow, I cannot think of replica football kits without the searing memory of how I nagged my dear departed mother way back in the mid 1970's for a City kit and was then underwhelmed in typical ungrateful teenage fashion with what she had managed to provide. Back in the days before there were everywhere I am sure she scoured every sports shop she could find and still got a petulant teenager Sorry Mum

I think we have all been their Skoorb and never realised what sacrifices they made for us when having a tantrum, money being meaningless to us because it grew on trees.

I'm old school too Ozi, but like you say shirt sales are a big part of a clubs income and you have to have the latest shirt. When I come over I buy shirts for a team I wont mention for friends who have yet to see the error of their choice of team.
