For all our updates and thoughts on the City pre-season tour of the USA

https://www.mancity.com/preseason%20tours/

City's pre-season preparations will consist of three matches in the Land of Trump including some top European sides and the rags.

July 20th will see the first ever Manchester derby to be played on foreign soil - plans for this to take place last year were thwarted by the weather. Houston, Texas is they venue for this game.

July 26th sees City take on the Champions League winners Real Madrid in Los Angeles.

July 29th will see the Sky Blues rock up in Nashville, Tennessee where they will play Tottenham Hotspurs

These are just exhibition matches, but I remember that Real Madrid turned out their first team when they last played us and wiped us from the field with our inexperienced players, which was popular with the pro Real Madrid crowd, there are some difficult matches in the tour and I hope we can gain some fans with our displays

I always enjoy the pre-season friendlies as it's a good chance to see some of the youngsters against better opposition. Unfortunately, none of these look like friendlies

.....and I am sure the club will look forward to selling some shirts and associated club merchandise to the new converts

A game vs the Reds is and can never be classed as a friendly.

Watched the Australia vs Brazil game live on TV. Australia were terrible, lost 0-4 and have gone backwards since 2006. Neither side were full strength but even so it was a poor show for the faithful supporters.

Ange has a problem, he rates himself too highly, but he just does not have the cattle to chose from these days.

Manchester City will round off their pre-season preparations with a friendly against West Ham United in Iceland on August 4th.

This summer’s Super Match will be played at Laugardalsvollur Stadium in Reykjavik at 2pm local time, giving Pep Guardiola a final opportunity to fine-tune his squad ahead of the 2017/18 season, which gets under way a week later.

Less than two weeks to go before the City pre-season tour of the USA starts when Pep's charges take on the rags in Houston.

https://www.mancity.com/preseason-tours/usatour

The players will be returning from their summer holidays soon and the tour will be the first chance to see new signings Ederson and Bernardo Silva in action. Whether they will be joined by any others before they set off remains to be seen as the club's transfer activity, after a brisk start, stalled during the dog days of summer.

Cameo appearances from City's stars will be expected in Houston but the likes of Aguero, David Silva & Kevin De Bruyne are unlikely, I suspect, to play a full part in this fixture. It's a derby Jim, but not as we know it. Whilst I want to win against the Dark Side every time we play them I doubt very much if either Pep or Maureen will set much store by this match. They will keep their powder dry for the real event in December where precious points will be at stake.

After the rags City will move on to LA where they will take on the mighty Real Madrid on 26th July and then complete their tour in Nashville, Tennessee where they will face Wembley's finest, Tottenham Hotspurs.....

What are you hoping for from this Stateside jaunt?

I'm feeling stir crazy, so I'm just looking forward to seeing some action at last. Our boys staying injury free is my main concern, as always.

Reports say that Hart, Nasri, Mangala,Bony and Denayer are not on the tour.

Is there a list of players who are?

I cannot track one down. Plenty of videos and other 'fluff' ('send us your videos', 'five great goals scored in the US', 'what colour underpants will you wear to show your support?' {ok I made that one up} about the tour on the official site but nothing so simple as a list of the players who are travelling.

Maybe they don't know yet, as we've got a few transfers at the 'almost done' stage

Wonder who the right backs might be...

The only certainty is that VK4 will get crocked.

Any news on Otamendi's elbow, is it healed, will he travel with the 'group'?
