City have struggled to find any potency since the re-start. It's a Manchester derby but there's a long way to go before the season starts. Still time for the Blues to get something out of this but it's not looking likely at the moment...

Wow that is a lot of money and the daft thing is, that pep is not interested in winning but getting players fit and putting players in shop window like nasri and Mangala, Foden and Diaz (Loans possibly)

75: A City change now as Foden is replaced by Alexander Zinchenko. A great game from the youngster today.

It is , but I haven't seen them live in a year and a half and it's just up the road from me.

81: Fantastic skills from Pogba there who completely skins Fernandinho on the right-hand side before getting away and putting in a cross, nearly allowing Fellaini to nod home but he cannot quite angle it goal wards.

Sky don't mention that Fernandiho is out of position at leftback

84: WIDE! That could have made for an interesting finish as Nasri chips a ball to the incoming Jesus on the right of the box, but the striker can only poke the ball high and wide.

85: SAVE! City are coming all guns blazing in the final few minutes as Fernandinho goes for goal from 25 yards and it's a decent hit as it forces Romero to tip the ball over the crossbar.

Missed Chance
A real howitzer of a shot from Fernandinho is tipped over by Romero - close!
84
Missed Chance
Nasri almost puts in Gabriel Jesus as the Blues look to end strongly but the Brazilian can't quite finish

Nasri looking to get a decent Club or impress Pep, can't make my mind up, but he let Nasri go last season and we are full to bursting with midfielders

It is noticeable I think that those we are going to sell have not had a game tonight. (not including DS21 in that as he is thought to be carrying an injury alongside Gundogan)

Hal, if you have watched all the game, how do you assess the team for their first time out this season?

LOL, I don't think we should have either, not our first game anyway.

We actually looked crisp until the keeper misjudged and came out for the ball. After that we seemed to cool. To be expected being out first pre season match. It is probably down to a lack of match fitness.

MAN UTD 2-0 MAN CITY

It's all over at the NRG Stadium and the bragging rights go to United as they win the first ever overseas Manchester derby.

Romelu Lukaku netted his second pre-season goal as he rounded goalkeeper Ederson to put United ahead before Marcus Rashford added a second just minutes later.

It has to be said, Jose Mourinho's side never looked to be troubled by City, although it was their first outing of pre-season. Plenty to think on for managers and fans alike!

Full Time
All over here in Houston - United win 2-0 - the Blues can take plenty from this, though, not least the excellent display of Phil Foden who looks like a star in the making.

I'll not hang around given the time back in the UK - thanks for tuning in and watch out for a tweet link to brief highlights of the game around 9am. Post-match reaction coming up on mancity.com. Until the next time...
