Maybe the fact that some youth players train with the 'group' is a sign of a possible avenue of progression?

Agreed that it is possibly unrealistic to replace seasoned performers with untried youth but it would be nice to see a balance where next season for instance Gunn was promoted to back up keeper - or Tosin was named as one of our four centre halves this term - or Angelino (I know he's out on loan) was named as reserve left back.

I think when these lads get their chance they really need to shine, Garcia and Maffeo did alright in the brief playing time they got last season but being alright isn't enough, they need to grab their chance and stand out.

Hopefully Foden can do that this season and make it difficult for Pep not to select him regularly.

Again from the brief edited version, Foden enjoyed playing with better players, found himself some space and tested both rag keepers, but can he do it in a serious game and consistently and will Pep be prepared to gamble.

I suspect that the youth will only get games in the early rounds of the domestic cups and the u23 group which we have entered for the first time.

I was thinking more next season after he has had a chance to shine with the Canaries, like how JH1 did at Brum. Fingers x'd.

I reckon that's the plan.

I also reckon the plan is that Maffeo and Garcia will be fully fledged senior squad members for 2018/19 after their year playing in La Liga.

He's done well for himself hasn't he? Come to the club with the best youth coaching facilities in the country, stick around for three years and then feck off when it comes to signing pro terms. Well done Jadon.

Jadon Giggs eh?

Tb he's a much better chance of making it with Jose, isn't he renowned for giving kids their chance?

Not like that Guardiola fella who is just a chequebook manager who ignores youth football.

The lad will listen to advice and act what is in his best interests. Neither the engineer or Pep have given youth much of a chance. So if he goes good luck to him. If he can't cut the mustard with us, then see you later.

All the top managers are cheque book managers, they have to be to win titles. Maureen would be close to the #1 cheque book manager of all time.

If the lad is like this now, he will be the same all through his footballing career, never happy, always someone fault, I wish the lad luck, he will have some spells where he is brilliant but in the end he wont achieve that much unless someone gets a good grip on him and keeps the lid on.
