Norwich did OK, but Big Willie at it again with a penalty save.

On the VAR decision regarding the Willan incident, I personally thought it was a dive and only made contact with the defender whilst horizontal, in other words he dived, it looked a dive and I cannot believe that the nobs at the BBC studio could not see that.

Pedro, Morata, Willan all divers and could not beat lowly Norwich, where Angus Gunn was terrific and should be City's number 2 next season.

Haven't seen the incident but FFS 3 players carded for dives in the same game?

As for the BBC nobs.......I think Shearer has had it in for VAR since forever. He was just looking for an excuse to have a rant but he blows with the wind and in a few weeks after it gives a good result he will switch and claim it is brilliant.

My concern with it is that it is fine if the on field official refers something BUT I just cannot see his mate sat with the screens is actually going to call out a colleague DURING a game for a 'serious and obvious error'. They will all see that as undermining their credibility DURING the game and they would all fear that happening to them so they would only change a decision if the on field ref says "can you check if the goal should be awarded" or "is there any reason not to award a penalty"? They will default to "Hmmmm......not clear enough to diverge from the original decision". Easy way out.

Plus they are unlikely to get a Christmas Card or be bought a drink at the Annual "Who's the Best Referee in the World" Awards ceremony.
