EFL Cup draw

For anyone desperate enough to stay up and watch......

The first and second round draws did not go smoothly so we can only hope that the sponsors Carabao (a Thai energy drink) have gotten the organisers to sort their sh*t out.

EFL Cup third-round draw will take place in Beijing at 04:15 BST

No-one except insomiacs would be interested. And what a terrible sponsor name. I thought at first it was caribou (reindeer). I hanker for the old days when it was simply the Milk Cup. In our house it's always referred to as the pisspot (except, of course when we win it).

Know what you mean - I can even pre date the Milk Cup - it will always be the League Cup from our glorious victories in the 1970's!

Mickey Mouse trophy, oh sorry Stretford are the holders. Premier tournament. Drawn in China. FFS. Hope Pellers does it. City touring there again next summer.

Wish we'd won this Mickey Mouse trophy far more times than we have

Rag hypocrisy breathtaking. I wish Pep had gone full strength as Maureen did in that competition last season.

Yet another rag cup draw at home to lower league opposition and yet another draw for us away at a Premier League club.

Carabao Cup draw goes into extra-time as United get Burton, City go to West Brom. YCMIU.

Absolutely no surprise there then - away (again) against PL opposition whilst the Rags get a home draw against a team from outside the PL. You really couldn't make this crap up after last season's away draw in every round of the FA Cup.

But what on earth ere the Football League thinking when they made this sponsorship deal? Holding the draw in the middle of the night, in a country (China) where there is zero interest in the competition (from the mouth of a journalist working in the Asian football world), and 'broadvasting' it only on Twitter? Crazy.

Kerching!!

That's quite impressive, I make that 10 away draws in a row in domestic cups and only one of that ten wasn't a premier league club at the time of the draw.

We gotta get right on those City and United draw stats. I remember running the rule over them somewhere in these pages last season. Be interesting to see the numbers across the past 4 seasons or so.

The underlying narrative is that it is now nailed on that Evans will make his debut for us in this tie.
