PEP failed to capitalise on SJS threat after Jesus recovery.
Pep is playing augero and jesus as a result of promise or current form? Pep should rest augero to see how the SJS works this season.

We should play 3-4-3 with two wing backs, and our top three should be SJS. Hopefully they may set the PL in fire .

With Sanchez (possible transfer acquisition before deadline )and augero we have fantastic squad to compete in both CL and PL.
any thoughts guys..

Who would you have in your 4 mate? Or more to the point who would you have in your midfield two?

The way I see it if that system is to work you need two robust box to box midfielders that have a good blend of physicality and craft to their game. The closest we have to that is Fernandinho and Gundogan. If we went with that then we've got three creative attacking mids in Silva, KDB and Bernardo all on the bench.

Two would be KDB and feranandinho.. no other better option. We need KDB in the middle to pull the strings.

when we are ready to sacrifice Kun we can keep Silva Jr and Sr at bench along ..we may miss young Yaya now..I feel Jose have strong holding mid fielder(matic) in his rank who could well make this line up strong .

With 5 defenders in the system we can defend well collectively, once we lose the ball.

I'd be concerned that we're a bit lightweight in the middle with just KDB and Dino, think we'd get overrun.

It's a nice problem to have though trying to fit all this quality into a best XI.

I'm sure I've read on more than one occasion how PG loves midfielders more than any other position - which begs the question why is he playing five defenders (so far)?

If everyone was fit I'd go with 4-3-3

Ederson - Walker, Mendy, VK4, Stones - Red Kev, F25, Merlin - Sane, Aguero, GJ33

but with possible variations of Merlin/Silva, GJ/Sterling and F25/Gundogan.

I agree Kenny, 433 works well for the top clubs, and it worked well for Pep at Barca, but you need supreme quality for the front 3 to keep the other mob under pressure. Right now only Kun is good enough, Jesus maybe with a bit more game time with us on the left, but we have no one else who can score from right wing. If we persist with a 5 man defence then our current #1 wingers will want to move on I feel.

I suppose it's down to the 2 full backs not doing much defending as such. We've seen from the 2 games so far, that Walker, Danilo and Sane spent most of the games in the opposition half providing width to the attack. If the ref lets us keep our players on the pitch and Mendy gets fit (travelling to Bournemouth today), then it's not too difficult to see what he's trying to do
